Emily: What’s your favorite thing about writing?
De Ann/Native: I love the way the words come to me….it can be a smile, a dream, laughter, anger and tears….A poem gets a grip on me and won’t let go until I’ve given birth to my latest artistic creation, sonrisa….I feel so alive, so free.
Emily: Three facts about you?
De Ann/Native: I Am A Proud Native American Indian…..I Am A Women who Loves God….I Am Not afraid to Live Life to the Fullest (bad, good or indifferent), my passion to write comes from the life I’ve live and still living…..
Emily: Do you believe in UFO’s?
De Ann/Native: I believe in life beyond our world…. I just refuse to be so arrogant to think that the God Almighty on created us here on earth….If there are Heavenly beings, earthlings and even a hell why wouldn’t there be other life in the Universe around us…. As for something just showing up glowing in the sky, LOL, No…. I don’t believe in that, sonrisa…..
Emily: What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
De Ann/Native: I was more a sitcom type of child, LOL….I grew up half my life with my Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, so cartoons weren’t common….I do however remember the Holiday cartoons like (Santa Clause is coming to town, Charlie Brown, The Grinch who stole Christmas, The Snow Queen….shows like this….and every once in awhile I may see The Flintstone’s and The Jetson’s….
Emily: Would you rather have fortune or fame?
De Ann/Native: A little of both I suppose, sonrisa….I’m a writer/poet/author/artist so some fame along with a great body of work sells my books….Fortune can always be a plus….
Emily: Pick a book that’s your all time favorite?
De Ann/Native: Just one? Wow….this is going to be pretty hard, LOL…. Well it is one book that I’ve read at least once a year since I was very little…. (A Christmas Carol by: Charles Dickens)….I just love it, sonrisa…..
Emily: Embarrassing guilty pleasure?
De Ann/Native: LOL….I guess it would be truly over the top Action, Violent, Ass Kicking, Bang Bang Shoot um up types of movies….they stimulate my bad girl side and they are like Viagra to me, LOL….
Emily: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
De Ann/Native: A little bit of both I guess, sonrisa….it depends on the situation or circumstance….
Cartoon growing up: Wait until your father gets home, LOL….
Type of Monster: Vampires

Emily: Your thoughts on self-Publishing?
De Ann/Native: I feel that self-publishing is a hidden treasure that is being unearthed each and every moment….. Something that has only been a far off dream for many a talented writer, is now available…. allowing them the opportunity to realize and attain their dream of becoming a writer….I think it is truly awesome, sonrisa…..
Emily: Your thoughts on Zombies?
De Ann/Native: I DO NOT LIKE ZOMBIES!!!! NEVER HAVE!!! THEY TOTALLY FREAK ME OUT!!!
Emily: Do you believe in the Loch Ness Monster?
De Ann/Native: Never thought about it, LOL….never seen it, but doesn’t mean it may not exist, LOL…..
Emily: Are you a Tweeter, Re-Tweeter or couldn’t care less?
De Ann/Native: Definitely a Tweeter, LOL!!! I’ve only been tweeting since Agosto/August 2011….But I totally love twitter!!!
Emily: Would you rather sit on the porch with sweet tea, or hiking with a bottle of water and a smile?
De Ann/Native: Hiking or Long Walks, sonrisa…. I love being out in Nature and surrounded by God’s Creations….I guess it in my Blood….Now when I get home, a nice Mojito’s or a Patrone on ice (wink), sonrisa….
Emily: Favorite type of music?
De Ann/Native: I Love All Genres…. (Native, Opera, Classical, Celtic, Hip Hop, Latino, R&B, Country Western….the list could go on and on….I love any musica that touch my soul….
Emily: Your favorite color Skittle?
De Ann/Native: Purple
Emily: Your favorite memory?
De Ann/Native: Sitting at my little desk in my Great-Grandmother Barnett’s office, sonrisa… She was retired writer but still wrote articles for magazines…. She made up my desk with pad, pencils even an old typewriter….I guess writing was always my destiny, sonrisa….
Emily: Your favorite quote?
De Ann/Native: It’s more of an -Ancient Indian Proverb-: “Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors; we borrow it from our Children”
Emily: Your favorite way to spend an evening?
De Ann/Native: It depends, sonrisa…. Sometimes curled up with a good book….or snuggled up with mi esposo/husband….or watching a great program and/or movie….
Emily: Tell us what you are working on Now?
De Ann/Native: I am working on my next book of Poetry which will include my Art as well….it will be Published through “Plum Tree Books” http://plumtreebooks.co the early part of 2013…. I also working on a personal project dear to my heart with mi hijo/son….It will be a Children’s book with mi nieto/grandson as the main character…. I’m hoping to have it published by the 2012 Holiday season, if not early 2013…..
Emily: Anything you would like to say to aspiring authors reading this blog?
De Ann/Native: Follow you dreams…. Reach for the stars and travel the universe…. Stand Strong, Stand Faithful, Stand Confidently Proud in their destiny as Writer’s, Poet’s, Artist, Creative Wonders, sonrisa…. Dreams do come true (I’m living mine)…..
