Interview with Anne Marie Brewer
Anne Marie Brewer
When did you first decide you wanted to write?
I’ve wanted to write since I was young but never thought about doing it as a career.
How do you feel about self publishing?
I am more willing to self-publish than to traditional publish.
Was it scary the first time you put your work out there?
Yes, a little. I had a few people read my work before I put it out and they loved it and said it was amazing. But it was still a little intimidating.
What is your favorite genre to write?
I love to write contemporary and romance the best.
What is your favorite genre to read?
My favorite is Paranormal. I love to read about the unknown.
What do you like to do in your spare time besides write?
I spend time with my kids and love traveling and shopping. Oh and of course, READ!!
What was your favorite subject in school, was it English?
I actually excelled in English and Spelling. But my favorite was probably Choir and History, shocking.
Do you have a favorite author?
I do. Cassandra Clare and Jennifer L Armentrout are my favorites.
Is there something you want to write about, that you haven’t yet?
There is a lot I want to write about but right now, I am doing about 3 books at this time, so everything else will have to wait.
Do you have a favorite character you have written so far?
I like each of my characters for different reasons. But I’d have to say Jackson Cruz is my favorite. I can’t wait to finish my book. He’s a real hottie!
Does that reflect anyone you know?
Not really, he has many characteristics that remind me of different people. But he is his own person.
You can go on a picnic with a character from any novel, who would it be, and what would you bring?
Oh my God, this is hard. But I have to say Jace from The Mortal Instruments. He’s my #1 fictional crush. And I would bring Enchilada’s and coffee ice cream, along with coffee from Starbucks. Wow, what a mix!
Spaghetti or Lasagna and why?
Lasagna! Because that is my favorite dish since I was a kid!
Vampire, Zombies, Werewolves, or none, and why?
Oh goodness! Hmmm, angels or fairies because they aren’t as popular in books and they are awesome!
Anything you want to say the aspiring writers reading the blog??
Don’t quit. Don’t give up! Just keep going and conquer your fears and reach your goals! You’ll feel so empowered, like you can do anything!! It will be worth the struggles in the end, I promise!!
